DUCC Floor Plans

The DUCC Housing Area provides two types of living options with traditional-style housing in University Commons and suite-sytle housing in Dominion and Commonwealth Halls.

Hanover Hall is the central community building featuring a service desk, study lounge, TV lounge, laundry facilities, common kitchen area, vending area, and professional staff offices.

University Commons

University Commons is a traditional residential complex housing approximately 500 freshmen and sophomore residents in seven residence halls: Amherst, Brunswick, Carroll, Dickenson, Essex, Franklin, and Grayson. Each floor has a community bathroom and houses approximately 26-30 residents living in double and triple rooms. Each resident is provided a bed, desk, chair, closet and dresser. University Commons is a non-smoking housing area.

The University Commons are home to three Sororities and eleven Living Learning Communities.

Commonwealth and Dominion Halls

Commonwealth and Dominion are five-story buildings consisting of suite style, double occupancy rooms housing approximately 500 upper class residents. All rooms have beds, chairs, desks, bookshelves, closets, and dressers. The first floor of each building includes a reception area, lounge, vending and laundry facilities. Floors two through five are residential, each housing approximately 62 residents. Each floor has two wings with central elevators and a study lounge.

Resident Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety within assigned room.
  • Adhere to community standards, your Housing Agreement and the Guide to Pride: Resident Student Handbook.
  • Pay for all long-distance phone calls.
  • Participation in a Mason residential meal plan (except seniors).
  • Provide own cleaning supplies (cleaner, toilet paper, etc.) (Dominion & Commonwealth residents only)
