Liberty Square, Potomac Heights

The YRC Housing Area provides apartment-style living options in Liberty Square and Potomac Heights.

Liberty Square

Liberty Square houses approximately 500 students in 144 fully furnished apartments. Located between Presidents Park and the Aquatic Center, Liberty Square features two and four person apartments each with single bedrooms and one bathroom for every two students. Each apartment contains a kitchen and living area. Kitchen amenities include a refrigerator, electric stove and oven, garbage disposal and dishwasher.

Residency in Liberty Square is limited to upperclass students. Nine and twelve month leases are available. Liberty Square is a non-smoking housing area.

• Local phone service (no hook-up fee or monthly charge).
• Individual voice-mail service for each resident.
• Telecommunications package (cable TV and internet access).
• Individual air-conditioning and heating units.
• Carpeting, window treatments, furniture.
• Kitchen including dishwasher.
• Elevator.
• Student recreational, programming and TV lounges.
• Meeting and computer rooms.
• Laundry facilities in Liberty Square.
• Vacuum cleaners available at service desk.
• Limited on-site parking available (purchase of a University Parking decal required).

Resident Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and safety within apartment.
• Pay for all long-distance phone calls.
• Provide own cleaning supplies, toilet paper, light bulbs, etc.
• Participation in a meal plan is optional.
• Uphold community standards, adhere to your Housing Agreement and the Guide to Pride: Resident Student Handbook.

Potomac Heights

George Mason continues to grow with the construction of Potomac Heights. This brand new apartment complex houses approximately 504 students in 128 fully furnished apartments. Apartments accommodate 2, 4 or 6 students in single and double bedrooms. Located between Liberty Square and the Aquatic Center, Potomac Heights offers generally one bathroom for every two students except for the 6-person units, which have an extra half bath. Each apartment contains a kitchen and living area. Kitchen amenities include a refrigerator, electric stove and oven, microwave oven, garbage disposal and dishwasher.

Upperclass students are given preference in Potomac Heights. Potomac Heights is a non-smoking housing area.
