What is RSA?
Purpose
- To promote a positive living/learning environment
- Serve as a liaison between residents and the OHRL administration
- To create and provide opportunities for residential students to assume leadership roles in a governing organization
- Encourage the development of leadership and programming skills and provide opportunities to use these skills
- To review and make suggestions in regard to housing and residence life policies and procedure
- Promote a sense of community among the residence halls of the residential area
- To provide additional funding for Resident Assistant programs
RSA is comprised of five Area Leadership Councils:

- DUCC Area Leadership Council
- Chesapeake Area Leadership Council
- TAP Area Leadership Council
- YRC Area Leadership Council

Conference Attendance:
RSA members serve as an advisory council regarding issues affecting campus residents. RSA participates in the National Association of College and Residence Halls, Inc (NACURH), the South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (SAACURH), and the Virginia Association of Residence Halls (VACURH). All resident students, especially those actively involved in RSA, are invited to apply to attend conferences sponsored by these organizations. Contact your RSA representative for information about dates and applications.
