Summer Intern Housing

Updated 5/8/2012

*Please note: Single bedrooms are no longer available. We have a limited number of double bedrooms available.*

Interns
George Mason University's Summer Intern Housing is open to students enrolled in any college or university with an internship in the DC or Northern Virginia Area.

Apply
Please fill out an application to stay with us during the summer. Click here to access the intern application for 2012. The application will be available on Monday, March 5, 2012. The application will close on May 31, 2012, or when available spaces are filled. Apply early to guarantee your spot!

Dates
Housing is available from 1 PM on Friday, 5/25/2012 until 1 PM on Saturday, 8/4/2012. Interns must stay at least 30 nights, but may choose their dates within this time range.

Accommodations
Accommodations will be located in Rogers Hall
. Rogers Hall opened in January 2012, making it the newest residential facility along with Whitetop Hall. Each apartment is fully-furnished and air-conditioned with a living area and a full kitchen. Utilities (including laundry up to what we deem is the "average" amount), campus cable, and internet (wired and wireless) are included. A service desk will be open daily to assist students with questions, concerns, and lock-outs.

Payments
All intern stays require a 30 night minimum. A non-refundable deposit of $300.00, which is applied toward your total bill, is required to reserve a space for the summer. We cannot assign an intern to a room until the deposit payment is complete.
The remaining balance for your summer stay is due by check-in. We do not provide payment plans.
Single Bedroom: A single bedroom within an apartment is $35.00 per night.
Double Bedroom: A double bedroom within an apartment is $29.00 per night, per person.
Once assigned to a bedroom, you will receive an email from Housing and Residence Life with instructions on paying your bill online. Any remaining balances must be submitted via check, and must be postmarked ONE WEEK PRIOR to your arrival date.

Public Transportation
While Mason is not directly off of a metro line, we do have shuttle and bus systems. Visit the Metro website
, enter "George Mason Univ" next to "Travel From", and make your place of internship your "Travel To" destination. A bus/metro route will be suggested for you. You may visit the CUE bus website for more information on the city of Fairfax buses ($1.35 per ride as of 11/20/09). Mason also offers a free shuttle service called "Mason to Metro". In 2010, shuttles ran from outside Mason's Parking Services to the Vienna Metro station, Monday - Friday. We will post this summer's schedule as soon as we get it!

Parking on Campus (optional)
Interns with cars will need to purchase either a Summer Semester or Monthly Permit. Permits can be purchased in person at Parking Services (Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM). Intern parking is available in Lot I, located right beside Whitetop & Rogers Halls. If Lot I is full, interns (with permits) may park in any General Lot on campus. A Lot I parking pass will cost $90.00 for summer 2012.
