2009 Summer Intern Housing Parking
If you have a car, it is important that you request your permit at least 10 days before you arrive, arrive on a non-ticketing day, or arrive while Parking Services is open. Interns with cars will need to purchase either a Summer Semester Permit for $55 or a Monthly Permit for $50.

1. Mail in the Parking Permit Application at least 10 days before your arrival date. If you select the mail-in method, you should be able to pick up your permit in Potomac Heights when you check in and pick up your keys. Include the following documents in the mail:

• A copy of your driver’s license
• A copy of your registration
• A check for $55 for a summer permit or $50 for a monthly permit, payable to George Mason University.

2. Visit Parking Services in person during Operating Hours:

• Tuesday, 5/26, 8:30 AM – 7 PM
• Wednesday, 5/27, 8:30 AM – 7 PM
• Monday – Friday, 5/28 – 8/1, 8:30 AM – 5 PM

• Select Intern.
• In the G Number space, enter your driver’s license # if you are lot a Mason student.
• Use your permanent address/the one on your driver’s license, not your summer address on campus.
• Select check for your payment type if you are mailing in your request. Checks should be made out to George Mason University.

• 5/24/09, no ticketing in Lot R all day
• 5/25/09, no ticketing in Lot R all day
• 5/26/09, no ticketing in Lot R until after 7 PM

• If a parent or friend is helping you move in on a non-ticketing day, they may also park in Lot R.
• If your visiting friend is staying 30 minutes or less, there are some 30-minute spaces right outside the housing office for them to park in short-term. A car parked longer than 30 minutes is likely to be ticketed.
• Visitor parking is also available in the Sandy Creek parking garage, located just across the street from Liberty Square.
