Welcome to Housing & Residence Life
Housing and Residence Life at GMU provides a safe inclusive community-oriented environment that supports academic excellence, fosters personal growth, and champions the well-being of residents, through collaboration and intentional programming, to ensure their success at Mason and beyond. Housing and Residence Life is dedicated to providing our students with a safe and inclusive community-oriented environment that provides our students with the tools and support needed to thrive at Mason.
Living on campus makes it easier for students to connect with their peers and conveniently access campus resources supporting academic excellence.
Our professional staff has transformed the residential student experience to reflect. In other words, our residents don’t just live here at Mason Housing, they belong here!
By partnering with Academic Units and University Life Offices, we have been able to create customized Learning Communities for our student populations and developed a residential curriculum, that provides a supportive, educational, and exciting living experience for our students.
In addition to live-in professional and student staff in each residence hall, housing is comprised of several units — Facilities and Operations, Residential Student Engagement and Education, Residential Student Success, and Divisional Shared Services — all of which play a vital role in supporting students' health, safety, and well-being. Our Leadership Team is located in Piedmont and they are available during standard university hours (9 AM- 5 PM).
