About

More than 6,500 residents and staff call Mason home. From incoming freshmen to visiting graduate students and researchers, we are proud to welcome them all into the Mason Nation.

When You're Here, You're Home

Dear Mason Housing student and family member,

On behalf of our entire team, I want to thank you for considering Mason Housing. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring that your living environment is not only safe and affordable, but also helps you benefit fully from all that Mason has to offer.

Our 40+ residence halls offer a variety of living options, ranging from apartments to suites to traditional rooms.

Each floor has Resident Advisors, upper-class students who plan fun social events and will help you handle any crisis that might come up.

Each building/complex also has a professional Resident Director, who lives and works in the area to ensure you have any support you might need. We've got your back.

You won't have to go far to find any other assistance you might need. Our residential campus is divided into Neighborhoods, with each having an Assistant Director of Residence Life, Housing Services Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, Neighborhood Coordinator, Maintenance Manager, and Facilities Manager.

Our neighborhoods are:

  • Aquia, which is geared for upper-classmen, and features suite and apartment living.
  • Shenandoah and Rappahannock, which focus on freshman and upper-classmen, with a mix of traditional rooms and suites.

Each also has a 24-hour desk (Aquia has two). The desks are located, along with the headquarters for the Neighborhood, in Piedmont Hall for Rappahannock, Eisenhower for Shenandoah, and Whitetop for Aquia. Aquia’s second 24-hour desk is in the Mason Global Center. Our Central Team is in Potomac Heights, and we're available during standard university hours.

I encourage you to contact me directly at 703-993-2796 if our first line of problem-solving doesn't result in a satisfactory solution.

We look forward to providing you with a home away from home at Mason.

Sincerely,

Thomas W. Hardy, EdD
