These positions are open to full-time graduate students with preference going to graduate students in the Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Development, or similar fields focusing on counseling, education, and learning. Each position varies in responsibilities and pay. Positions include:

ACUHO-I

The ACUHO-I Housing Internship Program is an opportunity that supports graduating college seniors and/or graduate students by providing a variety of roles within Housing and Residence Life. The ACUHO-I Housing Internship Programs formally goes through ACUHO-I. The application opened in February and if selected the intern will start in May. Position Descriptions

Assessment Intern

Under the supervision of one of the Assistant Director for Assessment, the ACUHO‐I Summer Assessment Intern at George Mason University will serve as an integral member of the Assessment Team including Housing and Residential Life as well as the UL Division of University Life. In addition, the Summer Intern will gain exposure to other functional areas within the department as well as UL Division and will increase their understanding and appreciation for the way in which these systems and programs work together. The Assessment Intern will be actively involved in preparing a professional development plan so that the specific needs of the intern are being met through this experience.

Assignments Intern

Under the supervision of one of the Assignments Coordinators, the ACUHO‐I Summer Intern at George Mason University will serve as an integral member of the Services team. In addition, the Summer Intern will gain exposure to other functional areas within the department and will increase his or her understanding and appreciation for the way in which these systems and programs work together. The Summer Intern will be actively involved in preparing a professional development plan so that the specific needs of the intern are being met through this experience.

Assignments Intern Position Description

Marketing and Communications Intern

The ACUHO-I Intern for Marketing & Communications is a 3-month position. The primary responsibility is to work directly with the Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications to enhance the overall marketing for the Department of Housing and Residence Life. This position is for someone who is interested in developing creative concepts and researching marketing trends that are effective at reaching a college audience. The Marketing and Communications Intern will be responsible for overseeing and completing various tasks.

Staff Development Intern

Working in Staff Development, Engagement, & On-Boarding offers a unique and dynamic employment opportunity for a graduate student, as this role is integral in supporting the planning and execution of professional staff development in Housing & Residence Life at George Mason University. The Staff Development, Engagement, & On-Boarding Intern will have responsibilities in the following areas: training & ongoing development, staff on-boarding, ACUHO-I events, research and resource development, and [etc.]

Summer Operations Intern

The ACUHO‐I 2021 Summer Operations Intern at George Mason University serves as an integral member of the Summer Operations team. The Intern will gain exposure to the various functional areas of the Summer Operations unit within Housing and Residence Life and develop an understanding of the ways in which these systems and programs interface. The intern will work closely with our summer camps and conferences, summer interns, summer school students, and summer orientation overnight programs.

The ACUHO‐I 2021 Summer Operations Intern will have responsibilities in the following areas: direct supervision of two summer operations student manager, serve as an on-call resource, coordinate a team 25+ student workers, and provide excellent customer service to various summer populations.
