Explore Mason's LLCs
Open to all College of Visual and Performing Arts majors and Creative Writing majors, students in the Arts LLC explore innovation and creativity across visual and performing arts disciplines, support each other in creative work, and experience deeper connections between the arts at Mason and in the community.

Business: Foster Development of Successful Business Pratices
Foster your development of successful business practice through team building, leadership activities, and practice experience with School of Business faculty. Explore local businesses and network with employers and Mason business alumni.

Global Patriots: Explore the World at Mason
The Global Patriots LLC aspires to give students broad exposure to international campus activities and events, global student organizations, and other global learning opportunities at Mason during their first year. Live with globally minded peers and learn from internationally experienced faculty and staff.

Build a network of friends in the Honors College to study with and explore Mason while receiving access to extra enrichment workshops to complement the classroom experience. Network with faculty and student leaders inside and outside the classroom.

LGBTQ+: Inclusive Community Building
The LGBTQ+ LLC strives to create an on-campus environment of care, support, and trust; both within LGBTQ communities and across lines of gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, culture, religion, ability, and other identity groups. We invite students who identify, their allies and any community members interested in creating a more inclusive on campus community to apply.

OGUN Black Male Success: Stand Together, Excel Together
Incoming freshmen in the inaugural year of the OGUN Black Male Success Living Learning Community (LLC) collaborates in the creation of an on-campus support network for Black males that is rooted in trust, encouragement, and accountability. Using an experiential learning-based approach, Ogun students equip themselves to navigate healthy relationships across multiple layers of identity, including race, gender, socioeconomic status, and sexuality while receiving support in navigating the college environment.

Pre-Nursing: Nursing is a Work for Heart
Live and learn with other pre-nursing students and participate in opportunities and special events designed just for you! Join an environment built to supportive academic relationships for pre-nursing majors as they live and study together.

Volgenau School of Engineering: Innovate, Create, Connect, and Explore
Receive academic, professional and personal support from faculty, student leaders, and other students through the development of a close-knit community. Students in the LLC gain an extra network to manage the academic demands of these rigorous programs. Explore technology and engineering on and off campus through field trips and excursions while networking with faculty and staff.

Students in the Environment & Sustainability LLC make sustainability a core component of their Mason life. As a Member of this community, you will contribute to Mason’s efforts to create the greenest campus and university community in Virginia. Leadership through Community Engagement: Embrace Your Passion for Service
Live with like-minded peers interested in exploring social concerns in order to become an active part of solutions through community engagement. Members examine local and global issues through academic study and activism, with an emphasis on leadership, positive change and active citizenship.

Outdoor Adventure: Choose Your Own Adventure
Choose your own adventure with the Outdoor Adventure LLC. Hike, kayak, camp, climb and explore the outdoors while learning about the environmental impact, academic programs, and organizations involved in outdoor learning at Mason. Prior experience is not necessary and you can plan your own adventure!

The First – First Generation: Trailblazers Welcome
Join a community of first-generation students who are trailblazers, just like you. You’ll learn about yourself and your community while creating your own Mason family. Form a community of students who share similar experiences and academic goals while receiving support and guidance from faculty and staff.
First generation students are those students whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s): did not receive or complete any level of post-secondary education, enrolled at or earned a two-year degree from a community college, and/or earned any level of post-secondary education outside the United States. These students may have older siblings who have completed a degree

Well-Being: Relate to the World on a Deeper Level
Participate in a strengths-based, values-guided, holistic college experience that combines principles of mindfulness with traditional academic study. Students gain opportunities to learn more deeply about themselves and how they relate to others through mediation, yoga, and explorations on methods of mindfulness.

The Business & Entrepreneurship LLC welcomes students from all fields of study, who are passionate about new learning opportunities. Throughout the year, our students become involved with organizations, nonprofits, government entities, and major corporations to understand their role in society, the economy, and our region. Our students also have the unique opportunity to expand their classroom discussions to real world settings, while interacting with our vast alumni networks.

Gender & Social Justice: Transforming our Campus and Community
The Gender and Social Justice LLC will offer students an opportunity to explore constructions of gender and social inequalities associated with gender with special attention to contemporary issues. Students will also be provided with opportunities not only to learn about gender and social justice, but also to become advocates and activists around gender equality through both on and off campus opportunities. We invite students to apply who have taken a course that discussed gender or have had some experience with an organization that focuses on gender justice and want to further their knowledge about these issues.
