Fall 2023 Move-In Schedule

The Fall 2023 Move-In Schedule is designed to facilitate the smooth and organized process of students moving into their respective housing accommodations at the beginning of the academic year. It outlines specific dates and categories for different groups of residents.

Early Arrival Sunday, August 13 For approved residents only. Upperclass residents who have applied and residents attending orientation are eligible. The Early Arrival Application will be available in the Housing Portal during the summer.
Freshman Move-in August 16-17 Freshmen will need to move in on their assigned move-in day.
Upperclass Move-In August 18-20 All other residents who have not yet checked in are welcome to move in on August 18-20.

Detailed information regarding move-in will be sent out to residents via their Mason e-mail in July.

MoveCrew

The MoveCrew is a team of upperclass residents, faculty, and staff who volunteer to help welcome and move our first-year residents into the residence halls on August 16-17. Upperclass residents who apply for early arrival will have the option of volunteering with the MoveCrew to have their $55/night early arrival fee waived. 

In exchange for working one five-hour shift, residents who volunteer with MoveCrew will:

  • Be able to move in on Sunday, August 13 
  • Have their $55/night early arrival fee waived
  • Receive a free t-shirt
  • Receive free lunch on the day of their shift
  • Be able to talk with new students and their families about their Mason experience

The Early Arrival application, which includes the MoveCrew application, will be available June 30-August 1 in the Housing Portal.

What is the address for Angél Cabrera Global Center?

Check-in for students arriving August 16-19 is at the Angel Cabrera Global Center between 9am-4pm. Please use the following address when arriving to campus:

What is the address for Piedmont Hall

Students arriving from international locations who cannot check in between 9am-4pm should use the following address if checking in at Piedmont. Students who live in the Angél Cabrera Global Center, Blue Ridge, Eastern Shore, Hampton Roads, Northern Neck, Piedmont, Sandbridge, Tidewater, Townhouses, Whitecap, and Rogers will check in at Piedmont. Students who arrive to campus close to 4:00pm should head directly to Piedmont for check-in. Only students arriving from international locations, or had their flights delayed, are able to check-in after the main check-in station closes at ACGC.

What is the address for Eisenhower Hall?

Students arriving from international locations who cannot check in between 9am-4pm should use the following address if checking in at Eisenhower. Students who live in Potomac Heights, Liberty Square, Taylor Hall, or Presidents Park will check in at Eisenhower Hall. Only students arriving from international locations, or had their flights delayed, are able to check-in after the main check-in station closes at ACGC.

Who is eligible for early arrival?

Residents who fit into one of the following categories are eligible for early arrival. The early arrival check-in will be on Sunday, August 13 between 9am-4pm at the Angél Cabrera Global Center.

Residents eligible for early arrival:

  • Upperclassmen
  • Students attending orientation on Monday, August 14

Students who wish to participate in early arrival will need to complete the Early Arrival Application, which will be available in the Housing Portal beginning June 30. Any first-year students attending orientation on Monday, August 14 will not be able to access the application and will receive a confirmation e-mail when they have been added to the easy arrival roster.

Are microfridges available for rent?

YES! Housing and Residence Life has partnered with MyFridgeRental.com to allow residents to rent their microfridges for the 2023-2024 academic year. Residents who rent their microfridge through MyFridgeRental.com will have their microfridges delivered just to their academic year space prior to move-in and will have their microfridge picked up after the residence halls close next May. All microfridges rented through MyFridgeRental.com comply with university health and safety standards.

How do I know my building and room number?

Assignment information can be found in the Housing Portal. The building's name/code is listed first, followed by the room assignment. For Commonwealth and Dominion,  the floor number is the second number listed. For example, CO-1325 is on Commonwealth 3rd. For all other buildings, the first number listed in the floor number.
