Whether you're gathering a group of STEM, journalism, or athletics students or assembling a professional conference, Mason can provide you with a home base and facilities for your summer event.

Hotels and facilities in downtown D.C. and the surrounding area can be costly. Mason, which is about 15 miles outside the city, can be the ideal place to house and host your group, whether for a student camp or a business or professional organization.

We can accommodate groups of various sizes between May 26th - August 2nd with residence hall accommodations that fit any group size.

Our accommodations feature:

  • 24-hour front-desk staff
  • Free shuttle service from Mason to the Vienna Metro stop
  • Free shuttles to local shopping and dining
  • Furnished bedrooms, with an extra-long mattress (for a fee, Mason can provide a linen package with a pillow, pillow case, sheet set, blanket, towel, and washcloth)
  • Cable service (guests must provide a television and proper cords)
  • Wireless/wired Internet access (guests must provide Ethernet cord)
Mason provides housing for conference attendees who can also rent space in one of our multipurpose rooms for meetings, trainings, and other gatherings. Our largest multipurpose spaces can accommodate 60 people.

Affordable Pricing

The anticipated Summer Conference Housing rates for Summer 2024 are included below.  If you have any questions regarding these rates, please contact stay@gmu.edu. Conferences are considered internal if they are a university unit, organization, etc., paying with a Journal Voucher. Prices listed below are per person. Single bedrooms house one person, while doubles house two individuals. Should a camp or conference not be able to fill the second space within a double, the cost would remain the double occupancy price since the other bed is not open for Mason to assign to another individual.

Are Laundry Facilities Available?

Laundry rooms are available in each residence hall with washers and dryers and are free to use during your stay. Guests must bring their own laundry detergent, dryer sheets, etc.

Is Parking available on campus?

Parking will be available on campus for a fee, long term free parking is not available on campus. To purchase parking passes for your groups, please visit https://transportation.gmu.edu/. On-campus Mason Shuttles and Fairfax CUE Bus to/from the Vienna Metro Station & local shopping centers will be available. Bus schedules will be released closer to the summer season. If you will be having charter buses on campus, reach out to parking services to discuss where parking is permitted for the buses.

What dining and food options are available to my group?

You can also reach out to dining services for any catering needs for your group at catering@gmu.edu. There are also lots of dining and retail options around the Fairfax campus area.

Is WIFI Available?

WIFI is available for free through Apogee. If your group is staying on campus for less than 7 days, you will access the short term WIFI option. If you will be staying for a longer duration you will use the longer term WIFI option. WIFI instructions will be available upon check in for your guests. Will there be office staff available during our stay and what are the hours?

Our Summer Housing Desk will have 24-hour phone and desk coverage throughout your stay. Summer staff members (Summer Conference Assistance/ Summer Office Assistance) will be available to assist your group with check-in, check-outs and any issues that may arise during your stay. Professional staff members (Assistant Directors, Managers, Community Directors and Admins) will be supervising the student staff and assisting with your group’s arrival. Your first point of contact while staying on campus will be the student staff members, they will be able to assist with any maintenance or facilities requests that need to be reported, assist with guest issues, and assist participants and chaperones with any university protocols and procedures. Please be sure to report any facilities or maintenance issues to the student staff within 24 hours. Prior to your groups arrival inquiries and questions will be sent to stay@gmu.edu. Once your group has checked in, all requests and issues should be reported to the housing desk staff, and they will get you taken care of or connected from there.
