Deposit Instructions

Paying to Reserve Your Space

The housing deposit/fee is non-refundable. Deposit/fee requirements and instructions vary across different housing application processes, so check a specific housing application for specific instructions. Don't submit a deposit unless you are instructed to do so. 

Deposits can only be made by credit/debit card. Current Mason students and new transfer students will submit their housing deposit through their Mason Housing Portal. Incoming freshman students will submit their enrollment deposit and housing deposit/fee to Admissions.

Waiver

During Housing Selection, students seeking a deposit/fee waiver will:

  • Submit the online request
  • Be required to submit paper documentation if applicable

No extensions will be offered. Students will be approved for a waiver or required to pay the deposit/fee.

If assigned prior to July 1st and no waiver is approved or payment received, a selected bed space will be cancelled. All other students, with received payments or approved waivers within the apartment/suite/room will remain assigned.
